Cloud software causing confusion

More and more companies are now offering cloud storage software that allows people to back up data from their PC or phone to a secure virtual file that is accessible through personal login details over the internet.
This negates the need for expensive external hard drives that can easily be stolen or damaged losing valuable data instantly.
The confusion most people find with cloud software is that you are generally given a small amount on opening an account (which usually gets full very quickly) and you then have to purchase more storage space entering the confusing world of gigabytes, megabytes and terabytes! Most people have no idea what these storage sizes actually convert to in real terms i.e how many photos, how many hours of music etc.

The easiest way to find this information out is to contact the cloud storage company to clarify or do a search over the internet to see what is the general consensus on what can be stored.
